Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure

Ibotta’s engineering team is growing and we’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud Infrastructure to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. As a Senior Engineering Manager of the Cloud Infrastructure team, you will lead in building secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure. Specifically, Ibotta’s Cloud Infrastructure squad is chartered with building the infrastructure — and tooling — used by the rest of the engineering organization to own and operate our product offerings. Additionally, we’re looking for someone passionate about minimizing engineering friction. At Ibotta, our engineering team is organized cross-functionally by squads that work on a variety of solutions for the company, including the platform powering our app that is used by millions of consumers. We’re looking for a manager that is inspired by mentoring a talented group of world-class engineers and acting as a technical coach when needed. 

This position is located in Denver, Colorado or with the option of full-time remote. Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

• Be an expert on infrastructure automation and tooling, including infrastructure-as-code

• Lead the team in building low-friction Infrastructure-as-Code & platform solutions for the rest of engineering.

• Work closely with the rest of the Engineering Enablement group to build a shared vision for Ibotta’s development ecosystem.

• Build technical roadmaps to reach business goals.

• Foster a positive engineering culture in line with Ibotta’s values.

• Ensure your squad has the people needed to be successful.

• Support timely delivery of engineering solutions to deliver business needs, while providing a transparent view to progress.

• Actively coach and mentor team members in their careers.

• Be a reliable decision maker.

What we are looking for:

• 4-5+ years of engineering management experience with a proven ability to build awesome, high performing teams and lead complex technical initiatives.

• 7+ years of experience as a software or cloud infrastructure engineer.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience working directly with cloud platform technologies, including AWS, automated CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and alerting systems, and network and application security tools and processes. Examples include Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS Lambda.

• Experience in building low-friction infrastructure solutions.

• Experience managing vendor relationships and the requirements for 3rd party tools.

• Understands and has led agile software development and management.

• Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus and expertise.

• Motivated by a fast-paced environment while encompassing our core values.

• Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication.

Additional Details:

• This position is located in Denver, CO or with the option of full-time remote and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, and equity.

• Base compensation range: $155,000 - $185,000. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
