Job Overview

As a Full Stack Senior Engineer with TypeScript development experience, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our notifications system, which will include implementing queuing mechanisms for efficient message delivery, as well as implementing APIs for other engineers to create and consume notifications events. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and a delightful user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and refine project requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain TypeScript-based backend and frontend components for the notifications and queueing system.
• Implement efficient queuing mechanisms to manage message delivery and ensure scalability.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance the functionality of the notifications system.
• Assist in the creation of responsive and user-friendly frontend interfaces to display notifications.
• Optimise system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and adhere to coding standards.
• Write and maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• A minimum of five years experience as a Full Stack Engineer with expertise in TypeScript development.
• Strong knowledge of queuing systems and message delivery mechanisms.
• Proficiency in frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React or Vue.js).
• Experience with backend technologies and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Express, or NestJS).
• Familiarity with database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data modelling.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (preferably AWS) would be nice to have.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) would be nice to have.
• Previous work on notification systems or related projects would be nice to have.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot will be a bonus, but not essential
