This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of inventory reporting and costing activities within a fast-paced, international environment. The role sits at the crossroads of finance, operations, and supply chain management, providing critical insights that directly influence business performance and strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and improving inventory processes across multiple locations. Working alongside cross-functional stakeholders, you will transform complex inventory data into meaningful financial intelligence while contributing to operational excellence and long-term growth initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities related to inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and stock valuation, ensuring complete and accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and review complex accounting entries, including standard cost adjustments, purchase price variance (PPV) analysis, and slow-moving or obsolete inventory (SLOB) provisions.
  • Reconcile physical inventory, warehouse management systems, sub-ledgers, and ERP financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
  • Lead and optimize cycle count programs and coordinate annual inventory counts with operational teams and external auditors.
  • Manage inventory costing methodologies, including standard, FIFO, or average cost approaches, and provide recommendations to improve margin performance.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely resolution of inventory cut-off and reporting issues.
  • Serve as the primary contact for inventory-related audits by preparing robust documentation and responding to external auditor inquiries.
  • Design, evaluate, and enhance internal controls and financial processes to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and strengthen governance.
  • Requirements

    • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent certification.
    • Proven experience in inventory accounting within manufacturing, retail, distribution, or similarly complex operational environments.
    • Strong expertise in IFRS and local GAAP requirements related to inventory valuation, including IAS 2 standards.
    • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end inventory accounting processes, including SLOB provisions, PPV analysis, costing methodologies, and multi-site reconciliations.
    • Advanced proficiency with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar financial systems.
    • Excellent Excel and data analysis capabilities, with the ability to manage and interpret large and complex datasets.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial findings effectively to non-finance stakeholders across operations, procurement, and logistics functions.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within demanding reporting deadlines.
    • Additional experience with ERP implementations, automation tools, RPA technologies, VBA, Python, multi-entity environments, foreign exchange accounting, or process improvement initiatives is considered an advantage.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive salary package and participation in a virtual stock option plan (VSOP).
      • Relocation support, including financial assistance and temporary accommodation.
      • Annual learning and development allowance to support professional growth.
      • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including gym membership support and mental health resources.
      • Regular company events and monthly social allowances.
      • Enhanced parental leave package, including fully paid leave for primary and secondary caregivers.
      • Family-friendly policies, including paid family emergency leave and remote work flexibility during pregnancy and return-to-work periods.
      • Opportunity to work in a highly innovative and mission-driven environment with significant ownership and impact.
