This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior iOS Engineer based in Canada.

This role sits at the core of a high-impact transaction platform powering large-scale shopper and checkout experiences used by millions of customers. You will be responsible for building and evolving advanced iOS applications that support real-time payments, checkout flows, and intelligent order verification systems. Working within a highly collaborative, product-driven engineering team, you will influence both technical architecture and product direction while delivering features that directly impact marketplace efficiency and user satisfaction. The environment is fast-paced, data-informed, and deeply focused on measurable outcomes, with strong emphasis on ownership, scalability, and reliability. You will partner closely with product, design, backend, and cross-platform engineers to deliver seamless mobile experiences. This is a senior technical role where your decisions shape both user experience and platform evolution at scale.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of high-performance iOS applications that power critical transaction and checkout experiences.

  • Own end-to-end development of iOS features, from architecture design and implementation to rollout, monitoring, and iterative improvement
  • Define and evolve the iOS technical strategy for key product areas, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Build and maintain complex mobile features across checkout, payments, and real-time verification workflows
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver seamless user experiences
  • Apply modern iOS architecture patterns and best practices (MVVM/MVI, modularization, dependency injection)
  • Improve and modernize existing codebases by reducing technical debt and building reusable components
  • Integrate with multiple backend systems and APIs, ensuring reliability and performance across distributed systems
  • Use observability tools and production monitoring to diagnose issues and continuously improve system stability
  • Lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and act as a key point of contact for iOS development across teams
  • Requirements:

This role requires deep expertise in iOS development, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to lead complex technical initiatives in a fast-moving environment.

    • 5+ years of experience in mobile or software engineering with a strong focus on iOS development in production environments
    • Strong proficiency in Swift, including Swift Concurrency (async/await)
    • Extensive hands-on experience with UIKit and SwiftUI in production applications
    • Strong understanding of reactive programming (Combine, RxSwift, or equivalent frameworks)
    • Experience implementing MVVM or MVI architectures in large-scale codebases
    • Proven experience integrating REST, GraphQL, or Protobuf-based APIs
    • Experience with modular iOS architectures and dependency injection patterns
    • Strong knowledge of production monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry)
    • Demonstrated technical leadership, including ownership of roadmap items or cross-team initiatives
    • Strong debugging skills with a track record of resolving complex production issues
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
    • Experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern iOS build tooling is a strong plus
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market benchmarks in Canada
      • New hire equity grants and ongoing equity refresh opportunities
      • Fully remote-first flexibility within eligible Canadian provinces
      • Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness benefits
      • Flexible paid time off and supportive work-life balance policies
      • Professional development opportunities and access to learning resources
      • Exposure to large-scale, high-impact systems used at national scale
      • Inclusive, collaborative engineering culture focused on ownership and innovation.
