Guild is hiring a Senior Knowledge Manager to help us evolve and mature an effective knowledge management (KM) practice in the Technology organization! Knowledge management is paramount to unlocking and powering scale within our organization’s people and processes; this role will be the primary owner of strategy, best practices, and implementation of the function.
We are seeking a knowledge management leader who has successfully instilled the practice into software engineering and technical support culture. We want to partner with someone who brings a passion for structuring information from disparate systems into an accessible, approachable, and discoverable model for all audiences. You will report directly to the head of Engineering Operations, Strategy and Enablement and will work across the organization to enable an effective KM strategy for both contribution and discovery along with the vital measurements needed to denote the efficiency of these practices.
As a Senior Knowledge Manager, you will:Create, communicate, and implement strategies for driving knowledge management principles and growing KM efficiency within the Technology organization.
As a player coach, lead collaboration and coaching on KM practice objectives and structure. These include organization, templating, contribution tools, search and discovery for the Technology team.
Coordinate across the broader business to identify content priorities and identify gaps in the organizational knowledge base.
Provide the structure, templates and processes for teams to be effective in ensuring documentation and knowledge are captured and kept current. Examples include team structures, roles and responsibilities, on-call calendars, runbooks, architecture and design documentation, PMO processes etc.
Use analytics, operating measurements and collaborative feedback to determine priorities and identify effective practices, training opportunities, and growth areas for the KM practice.
Conduct training for existing and new employees on engaging with the knowledge management tooling and practices; be a consistent advocate for engagement and contribution.
Identify internal and external knowledge management trends. Incorporate, communicate and/or promote these as warranted.
Assist with the creation, implementation and socialization of key content.
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
Significant experience in knowledge management and/or business studies, business development, product development, project management, software development, product management.
Previous experience in early-stage development and implementation of a KM practice within a company navigating an effective scale-up trajectory.Â
Proven experience in technical writing is a plus.
Deep experience using and configuring tools such as Atlassian Confluence, Sharepoint, Google Workspace, Simpplr. Our organization primarily uses Confluence and Jira.
Experience in leading through influence and driving growth through partnership. You should have demonstrably excellent interpersonal, coaching, listening, and mentoring skills towards this end.
Extensive experience working in or partnering with a software engineering organization.
Comfort presenting to strategic business leaders as well as technical leadership audiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to optimally explain technical concepts and processes to a variety of business partners
Proven curiosity and interest in keeping up and experimenting with new processes and technologies.
Willingness to embrace change and work with a high degree of urgency within a fast-paced environment.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $130,000-$160,000, as well as company stock options.
