This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer, Android based in the United States.

Take on a strategic leadership role where you'll shape the future of a high-impact Android platform used by millions of users. As a senior technical leader, you will drive the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale mobile initiatives while establishing engineering best practices across the organization. Working closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, QA, and DevOps teams, you'll help define long-term technical strategy and deliver exceptional mobile experiences. This position offers the opportunity to mentor talented engineers, champion modern Android technologies, and influence key architectural decisions. Accountabilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of complex Android initiatives from planning through production release.
  • Define and drive the technical strategy for Android development, establishing scalable frameworks, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Backend Engineering, QA, and DevOps to align technical execution with business objectives.
  • Design modular, maintainable Android applications using modern technologies such as Kotlin, Jetpack libraries, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Oversee API integrations, application state management, performance optimization, and architectural reviews to ensure long-term scalability and reliability.
  • Mentor and support engineers across multiple teams, providing technical guidance, promoting professional growth, and fostering engineering excellence.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging Android technologies and recommend improvements that enhance product quality, developer productivity, and user experience.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
    • 7+ years of hands-on Android development experience, including the successful delivery of large-scale mobile applications.
    • Expert knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and modern architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
    • Strong experience defining technical strategy, designing enterprise-level mobile architectures, and leading complex software initiatives.
    • Deep understanding of Kotlin coroutines, Flow, reactive programming, RESTful APIs, dependency injection, data persistence, and application state management.
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release management, and performance optimization techniques.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across engineering teams.
    • Experience with Redux-inspired patterns, functional programming, or cross-platform mobile technologies is considered a plus.
