Overview:

Independent Grocers are the heart and soul of the grocery industry and the local communities they serve. We are looking to hire a Sr. Manager of Account Management to lead our Account Management team. This team is responsible for the growth and success of Instacart’s wholesaler channel partners and our largest independent grocer relationships.

This is a critical leadership role. You will have the autonomy to build out your team, processes, and go-to-market strategy and motion. There will be consistent exposure to and collaboration with key leaders across the organization to help drive growth and scale.

In this role, you will have responsibilities including, but not limited to, driving strategic planning for your team’s portfolio of clients, developing your team’s skills, driving key business insights and recommending scalable growth strategies.  In addition, you will be implementing new operational processes, managing client needs, and up-selling new offerings and opportunities.

About the Job: 

  • Lead and develop the team responsible for building and maintaining relationships with wholesaler and retailer partners across the independent grocery landscape
  • Coach and provide constructive feedback on how to improve retailer engagements and upsell opportunity identification and execution
  • Enable the team to deliver against key initiatives and goals by building processes and partnering with Wholesaler Success to develop the go-to-market plans. This includes, but is not limited to: latest product offerings, strategic initiatives, improve growth / profitability, driving thought leadership, etc
  • Drive team to hit objectives and key results (OKRs) and business goals which include growing the overall partnerships and retaining existing partners
  • Work cross-functionally to help drive accountability for Local Independent Grocery goals and objectives
  • Own senior-level executive relationships at retail partners; build relationships in partners’ organizations 
  • Achieve and maintain high client satisfaction with Instacart
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans designed to meet retail partners’ needs and grow their business on Instacart
  • Establish a deep understanding of Instacart's business operations, including internal processes, functional group strategies, and competitive context
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide implementation of strategic plans and accomplish goals on tight deadlines
  • Coach the team in utilizing data and testing to drive key business insights, scalable growth strategies, and detailed execution plans
  • Engage, educate, collaborate, and problem solve with external partners at all levels of the organization

About You

  • Min 7 years previous experience; 3-5 in grocery industry highly encouraged
  • Previous experience in B2B SaaS and/or ecommerce businesses a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues
  • Experience with data sets and ability to extract business insights from analysis
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a rapidly evolving business landscape
  • Ability to deftly manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage across functions and present to leadership
  • Creative problem-solver
  • Positive, energetic, and influential relationship builder
