In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping and evolving a modern platform ecosystem that powers essential business operations. You will design and build scalable backend services, contribute to platform modernization efforts, and ensure seamless integrations across systems. Working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions. Accountabilities:
- Design and develop scalable platform services to replace legacy systems and support modernization initiatives
- Build and maintain secure, reliable APIs to enable seamless internal and external integrations
- Ensure high standards of code quality, system performance, and observability across the platform
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to deliver efficient and impactful solutions
- Contribute to architectural decisions and promote best practices in system design and development
- Drive platform reliability and continuous improvement through robust engineering processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years working with Python
- Strong expertise in building scalable backend systems and production-grade REST APIs
- Proven experience in platform modernization, system migration, or legacy replacement initiatives
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native environments, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Solid knowledge of Databricks, Spark, and data platform ecosystems
- Familiarity with frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask and modern API design principles
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and version control tools
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams
- Self-driven mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions
