Job Description

Team: IT

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Quality Engineer in United States.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality engineering professional to elevate the standard of software reliability and customer experience in a fast-paced, SaaS environment. You will lead testing strategy across UI and API layers, implement automation solutions, and influence quality practices across engineering teams. Acting as both a hands-on tester and a mentor, you will collaborate with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that every release meets high standards of functionality, performance, and usability. This position demands technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication skills, while offering the chance to shape processes and drive improvements at scale. The role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, continuous learning, and enhancing end-to-end software quality.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for both UI and API layers, reflecting real customer scenarios.
  • Write and maintain high-quality test cases that cover the full lifecycle of features and user interactions.
  • Contribute to and expand automated testing frameworks using Python, Playwright, pytest, and other tools.
  • Collaborate with developers and SDET teams to identify high-value test candidates for automation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on defects, document findings, and proactively reduce defect leakage rates.
  • Engage with product management to clarify requirements, assess feature testability, and provide early feedback on quality risks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead initiatives to improve quality processes across the organization.
  • Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, preferably in SaaS or multi-tenant platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with UI and API testing, including REST API concepts and tools like Postman.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation testing within existing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with shell environments (bash/zsh), version control (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub), and containerized environments (Docker).
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, and basic understanding of Kubernetes and automation processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex technical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving process improvements is highly desirable.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Ruby on Rails applications, UI automation tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, nonfunctional testing (performance, accessibility, security), microservices architectures, and certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE.
  • Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $160,000 – $180,000.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Flexible time off, paid holidays, and parental leave programs.
  • Wellness programs, mental health support, and nutrition coaching.
  • Professional development opportunities, leadership programs, and continuous learning resources.
  • Opportunities for team engagement through virtual and in-person events, recognition programs, and volunteer initiatives.
  • Collaborative, high-performance culture focused on growth, learning, and making an impact.
