Senior Revenue Accountant

Our growing Accounting team is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant! You will support our revenue accounting operations and play a high-impact role in monthly close, including revenue recognition pursuant to ASC 606. You will collaboratively contribute to ensure the integrity of key accounting processes and procedures. Reporting to our Senior Manager of Revenue, you will also help drive process improvement as our business continues to grow and evolve. 

What You Will Do

• Support monthly revenue close, which includes:  
  • Revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Revenue analysis (moth-over-month, actual to forecast, etc.)
  • Balance sheet reconciliations (deferred revenue and receivables)
  • Allowance reserves
• Own contract costs accounting under ASC 340, including monthly expense recognition, balance sheet reconciliation, reporting, and maintain technical documentation
• Assist with the research and document of technical revenue issues, including contracts with non-standard term, new accounting initiative and business processes
• Assist with maintaining the revenue recognition policies, including annual review of company’s SSP
• Partner with our customer-facing teams, finance, collections, and sales operations to ensure proper documentation and recognition of revenue and related transactions in the financial statements
• Assist with sales tax related matters, including approving sales tax returns, reconciling billing system to sales tax software and related special projects
• Ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding our systems, flow of transactions, internal controls as well as both recommending and participating in implementation of efficiency and effectiveness improvements
• Support annual audit
• Participate in special accounting projects, as needed
• Remain abreast of changes/updates to revenue accounting standards

Your First 90 Days

In your First 30 Days you will:

• Be introduced to the accounting team and key stakeholders in partner departments
• Receive an overview of Unanet and Unanet’s products
• Gain an understanding of Unanet’s revenue recognition policies, Unanet’s ERP, and monthly calendar
• Assist with first close

In your First 60 Days you will:

• Understand our ASC 340 positions and related reporting
• Understand the due course sales tax reporting
• Gain more comfortability navigating the ERP and running personal reports

In Your First 90 Days you will:

• Own specific close responsibilities from start to finish
• Support the interim for the annual audit

Who You Are

• 4+ years of audit experience in public accounting
• In-depth experience with software/SaaS revenue recognition under ASC 606
• Strong ability to recognize problems, gather data, draw valid conclusions, and effectively communicate information to internal stakeholders
• Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Bachelor's degree

The salary range for this opportunity is $90,000 - $105,000 per year. You will be eligible for employee equity as well as discretionary bonus compensation, subject to plans that may be in effect from time to time.
