Job Description

Team: Project Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Scrum Master (Agile Coach) based in India.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to step into a high-impact Agile leadership position within a global product engineering environment. You will act as a true Agile coach, guiding teams beyond basic Scrum execution toward full self-organization and maturity. Rather than focusing on task tracking or blocker removal, your influence will shape team culture, collaboration, and delivery excellence. You will work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to strengthen agile ways of working and maximize value delivery. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and globally distributed, requiring strong facilitation and coaching skills. This position is ideal for someone passionate about driving enterprise agility and long-term team transformation.

Accountabilities:

  • Agile Coaching & Facilitation: Guide teams in applying Scrum and Agile principles effectively, facilitating ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives with a coaching-first mindset that encourages ownership and self-discovery.
  • Team Empowerment: Build and sustain high-performing, self-managing teams by fostering psychological safety, encouraging experimentation, and enabling continuous improvement toward autonomy.
  • Product Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Owners to strengthen backlog refinement, prioritization, and value-driven delivery while reinforcing healthy Agile boundaries.
  • Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Leverage agile metrics and delivery data to identify bottlenecks, improve flow, and support evidence-based conversations around planning and forecasting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage and align stakeholders in complex, high-visibility environments, ensuring transparent communication and effective escalation when needed.
  • Long-term Agile Maturity: Drive sustained Agile maturity across teams, supporting broader Scrum Master communities and encouraging consistency in best practices.
  • Requirements:

    • Strong expertise in Scrum and Agile frameworks, with deep understanding of the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto, operating at or near Agile Coach level.
    • Proven experience as a dedicated Scrum Master in a non-hybrid role, focused purely on Agile coaching rather than combined responsibilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence teams without formal authority, fostering independence and self-organization.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience using Agile metrics to improve team performance, predictability, and delivery flow.
    • Experience working in scaled Agile environments, with the ability to apply frameworks such as Scrum of Scrums where appropriate.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence in handling executive-level discussions and escalation scenarios.
    • Strong facilitation, emotional intelligence, and the ability to design engaging workshops that build team maturity and mindset shifts.
    • Benefits:

      • Flexible and remote-first working model with options to work from home, office, or hybrid setups.
      • Opportunity to collaborate with a global, multicultural team operating across time zones and industries.
      • Strong focus on employee well-being, including wellness initiatives, mental health support (where available), and generous time off.
      • Continuous learning and career development opportunities across diverse projects and domains.
      • Inclusive, equal-opportunity work environment grounded in collaboration, respect, and professional growth.
