This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer I – Data & Insights Engineering based in the United States.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and analytics infrastructure that support business intelligence and operational insights.
  • Build secure, maintainable, and high-performing solutions capable of processing large volumes of data efficiently and reliably.
  • Partner closely with engineering leaders, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and deliver impactful solutions using Agile methodologies.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes and data workflows that transform complex datasets into actionable intelligence.
  • Contribute to the evolution of data architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, stability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Monitor and improve data system performance, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and operational excellence.
  • Participate in technical decision-making processes, balancing short-term priorities with long-term engineering strategy.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and comprehensive code reviews while fostering engineering best practices.
  • Promote high standards in software quality, security, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience building backend applications within cross-functional engineering teams.
    • At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with SQL or other database querying languages on large, complex datasets.
    • Proven experience serving as a trusted technical contributor and decision-maker within engineering teams.
    • Previous experience mentoring or coaching software engineers and supporting team development.
    • Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or similar technologies.
    • Significant experience in data engineering, including the design and optimization of data pipelines and ETL frameworks.
    • Experience with modern data platforms and technologies such as Databricks and cloud data warehouses including Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
    • Strong understanding of large-scale data processing, storage technologies, and performance optimization techniques.
    • Experience with streaming and ingestion technologies such as Kafka or comparable platforms.
    • Familiarity with database scalability concepts including replication, sharding, and high-availability architectures.
    • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices.
    • Understanding of security principles and experience working with systems that manage sensitive or regulated data.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in fast-paced, highly technical environments.
