Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Ruggable, you will be responsible for building the digital tools that delight our customers. You will be building internal tools that make the lives at our plants easier. For the operational teams, you will be building targeted solutions that improve operational effectiveness. In addition, you will be part of a growing engineering team across product, marketing, and operations with opportunities to work closely across the organization and with customers.

Projects may include operational tools to route and print orders, inventory management systems, shipment platforms and customer service tools to ensure excellent and consistent experience.

Strong candidates will have experience in architecting and developing applications from scratch. They will be excited to work directly with business partners (e.g., customer service, design, operations) and build solutions that meet their needs. Senior candidates will also be willing to coach and mentor junior engineers as they start their career.

What You’ll Do:

• Formulate quarterly tech road map and determine the long-term core product architecture 
• Evaluate & define improvements to the existing infrastructure, performance, and user experience
• Lifts the skills and expertise of junior engineers through direct mentorship and coaching
• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and marketing
• Clearly understand how projects relate to business priorities and help reinforce that with the rest of the team

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

• 5+ years experience in software engineering
• Previous experience as a strong engineer (our current stack is React (Next.JS), GraphQL, Node, AWS, Kubernetes, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Experience leading teams to architect and develop applications from scratch. Experience building APIs, data-driven applications, and/or other similar solutions
• Experience developing applications on a team (e.g., code review, test automation)

Preferred:

• Experience with eCommerce and/or public-facing applications and how they plug into internal tools (Shopify preferred) 
• Preferred location in Los Angeles, Chicago, or Charlotte

• $140,000-$150,000 per year
• Annual bonus percentage is dependent on level of role
