We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join the fully remote Engineering team at Feedonomics. You will be working with a highly collaborative and cross-functional Backend Engineering team to deliver and scale core infrastructure components and services that power our robust high-performance data-intensive SaaS platform.

• Collaborate on the architecture design and development of scalable and highly available applications and services.

• Solve complex infrastructure-related problems with code developing and providing post-release support for scalable applications.

• Identify and implement enhancements to DevOps practices and tooling leveraging automation to enhance robustness of the CI/CD pipeline thereby streamlining efficient application development and deployment.

• Drive technology design and articulate architecture solution options to the product owners and Engineering leadership.

• Conduct post-mortems to analyze and prevent repeat failures.

• Be a champion for Continuous  Improvement in end-to-end infrastructure and systems.

• Evaluate and recommend tools technologies and processes that solve concrete business problems.

• Become a domain expert who follows industry trends and applies best practices  and contributes towards continuous improvement of those practices.

• 5+ years of programming experience in backend languages like GoLang (Strongly preferred) Python PHP Java etc. 

• 2+ years experience with MySQL caching technologies (like Redis) and other non-relational data storage solutions

• Strong understanding of database schema design caching and scalability

• Strong understanding of various communication protocols (TCP RPC etc) 

• Strong understanding of Distributed Systems

• Experience with PHP is a plus

• Experience with Kubernetes is strongly preferred

• Experience with Full-stack observability tools like New Relic is strongly preferred

• Workable understanding of Linux operating systems Experience with modern CI/CD and containerization tools like Docker

• Ability to perform time and memory complexity analysis

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical field

(Pay Transparency Range: $135960 - $203940)

The national base salary range for this role is posted above in this job post.

Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience skills qualifications and geographic location. We also consider internal equity to help ensure fair and consistent pay practices across our teams.

Where applicable this role may also be eligible for variable compensation (such as bonus or commission) equity and benefits in accordance with local policies.
