Senior Staff Software Engineer, Network Infrastructure

You will work on cutting-edge cloud-native networking technologies, including service mesh, edge security, and multi-region connectivity, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability. The position requires close collaboration with engineering teams, security experts, and open source communities, allowing you to influence both internal systems and industry-wide best practices. You will own critical infrastructure components, lead initiatives for traffic routing, disaster recovery, and network automation, and mentor peers on engineering excellence. • Design, build, and maintain multi-region network architectures on public clouds, including VPCs, gateways, load balancers, and edge security systems
• Develop and operate software systems for traffic proxying, service mesh, and network monitoring to ensure high availability and performance
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to optimize network performance and reliability for global services
• Engage with open source communities and industry peers to contribute to cloud-native networking solutions
• Lead infrastructure initiatives such as global traffic load balancing, disaster recovery, and next-generation service mesh
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and establish technical standards for network engineering and operations

Requirements:

• 9+ years of software development experience in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments
• Deep expertise in cloud-native networking and distributed system concepts
• Proven experience with virtual network architectures on public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their networking services (VPC, TGW, Security Groups, etc.)
• Experience running large-scale networking systems such as edge proxies, DNS, CDNs, and network gateways; Istio and Envoy experience is a plus
• Full lifecycle development experience, including building, deploying, and operating high-scale, distributed systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and production support experience for network infrastructure
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across multiple engineering teams
• Passion for reliability, efficiency, technical quality, and scalable infrastructure
