Senior Business Operations Analyst
Lob is building a suite of APIs to simplify and automate enterprise workflows that connect the online and offline worlds. Our most popular product is our Print & Mail API that enables companies to send physical mail as effortlessly as sending emails. With a quickly growing customer base and dynamic product offerings, Lob is looking for talented individuals to join our team and shape the future of our company.
Our goal at Lob is to surface complex real-world infrastructure to businesses of all sizes via modern technology. Lob’s Partner Org owns and operates the supply side of the business, which must work seamlessly with this modern tooling to support key value props such as speed, scale, quality, and transparency. We are looking for strategic thinkers who are ready to roll their sleeves up, understand the intricacies of our data pipeline & supply chain, and apply their insights to optimize our fulfillment engine. The team implements rigorous operations management principles to derive and manage metrics like quality, speed, deliverability, and cost, all in service of delivering a world-class experience for Lob’s customers.
This role requires a strong foundation and acumen of analytical and strategic thinking, and a hint of creative thinking. You are a critical thinker who will lead discovery of key strategic insights via wrangling data from various sources. You are comfortable living in excel spreadsheets, sql, and building out models to support findings and conclusions. You will conduct in-depth data analysis of drivers that impact Lob’s core business and synthesize findings to present strategic recommendations to senior leaders. We are looking for a seasoned professional with a solid analytical backbone, who is well versed in distilling complex data into stories that drive core strategic decisions. This role is critical in carrying out Lob’s strategic direction and serves to build out a scalable and sustainable supply-side infrastructure at Lob.
As the Senior Business Operations Analyst, you’ll…
- Learn the ins and outs of Lob’s business model to develop a strong point of view on how to improve key metrics and solve operational problems
- Conduct in-depth data analysis of print delivery network performance and develop a deep understanding of value drivers to identify improvement areas and opportunities
- Present strategic findings and recommendations to leadership and work collaboratively with cross functional leaders to implement your strategic vision
- Build and manage financial/operational tools and reporting to validate your hypothesis, and report on key results
- Deep dive into cross functional areas to further improve key business metrics such as margin improvement and on-time delivery
- Communicate effectively across all levels (within the team, to cross-functional partners and leadership)
- Develop a deep understanding of supply side partners and Lob technology
For this role, we're looking for...
- 5+ years of professional experience with at least 3+ years in a quantitative role
- Excel (can perform complex functions and modeling) and a strong foundation of SQL knowledge
- Strong analytical skills - ability to work with raw data, formulate hypotheses, test them and draw insights
- Strong communication skills, confident speaking to internal and external stakeholders across all levels
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team-player
- Ability to grasp new business concepts quickly and desire to develop industry expertise
- Looker and experience using Business Intelligence tools is preferred
- Management consulting and investment banking experience a plus
