About the Role: 

Represent the Supply Chain organization in meetings with contract manufacturing partner and directly responsible for commercial relationship management to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service level expected. 

  • Drive execution of production requirements, and plans for both New Project Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining Product material pipeline.
  • Ensure risk mitigation actions are identified and in place to ensure successful deliveries and attainment to cost targets.
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance measures. Collect and communicate key metrics to the broader organization and host regular business reviews with partners.
  • Develop a robust process to track progress of cost optimization and negotiate BOM cost and MVA on a regular cadence.
  • Lead NPI materials process improvement and be the liaison of NPI and S&OP processes of assigned projects.
  • Responsible for supplier contract negotiation and initiating RFI/RFP/RFQ as needed.
  • Partner with the engineering team and the commodity team to coordinate component selection and qualification by contract manufacturers.

What You’ll Do: 
  • Weekly production review with contract manufacturers
  • Weekly core team meetings for assigned projects
  •  Regular cost review and cost roadmap development
  •  Regular material pipeline review
  • Regular commercial discussions and business reviews
  • Participate in monthly planning cadence
  •  Quarterly business reviews and supplier performance update
  • Support sourcing exercise as identified
What We’re Looking For: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, supply chain/project management preferred and/or relevant experience
  • Sensitive to numbers, critical thinking, high sense of owenership
  • Cross-functional leadership
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross functional stakeholders including Engineering, Finance and Manufacturing
  • Experience developing succinct, crisp executive summaries and presenting to leadership
  • Strong interest in technology and operations
  • 8+ years experience working in fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, for both NPI and mass produced products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish business process issues and drive process improvement.
  • Experience in negotiating pricing and supply agreements.
  • Experience managing JDM/ODM/EMS suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical skills including advanced Excel (ie. macros, pivot tables, VBA), and/or Microsoft Project
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders
  • Experience from Automotive, Electronics, Telematics industries

The compensation range for this position will depend on where you reside. Motive uses three geographic zones to determine pay range: Zone 4 (workers who live in San Francisco), Zone 3 (workers who live in select U.S. metropolitan areas: Los Angeles, San Diego, New York City Area, Seattle, Washington D.C.), and Zone 2 (workers who live elsewhere in the United States). For this role, the compensation ranges are: 

  • Zone 4: $114,000 - $171,000
  • Zone 3: $103,000 - $154,000 
  • Zone 2: $91,000 - $137,000
