We're looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join the Product Content team. This will be a US Remote position.
The Product Content team is a mighty group of writers who strive to deliver accurate, concise, and well-written technical documentation, online help, error messages, UI text, and other content that help our users to perform their tasks. We're seeking someone with unique skills and qualities, to add to the diversity of our group. Someone who shares a knack for analyzing and understanding user needs, in order to effectively advocate for them.
We're a fluid, collaborative product team: you'll work closely with agile software engineering teams, Technical & UX Writers, Designers, and Product Managers. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Product Content.
What you will do

• Work with agile software engineering teams to plan, write, and maintain developer documentation for a highly technical product. You'll write content for cloud apps, integration, APIs, automation, and more.
• Own, lead, and manage technical content for the product area assigned to you.
• Work in a multi-team agile environment and lead complex time-sensitive projects.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand requirements, gather information, and translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content. You're curious & dig in so you understand not just how the product works, but why it matters & the value added.
• Influence, improve, and define documentation processes and lead strategic content initiatives.

What you will need to succeed in this role

• Proven experience as a technical writer for an agile software company. You have contributed heavily to multiple shipped products and written developer documentation for cloud apps, iPaas, SaaS, AI, ML, IoT, network technologies, etc.
• Strong technical aptitude, ability to analyze specifications, research technical concepts, frame and solve complex problems using content, and communicate clearly and precisely in plain language.
• Have an understanding of technical concepts like APIs and web applications. You collaborate with development teams to go through epics, ask questions, understand developer tasks, and can explain them in plain language.
• Familiarity or experience with docs-as-code, markdown, bitbucket, github, structured authoring, content management systems, and version control.
• Identify areas of opportunities to improve and define processes for yourself and your team.
• Proactively build and maintain relationships across teams and different functions.

Additional experience desired

• Experience using a docs-as-code approach for documentation and comfortable using Markdown, Github, etc
• A 'niche' area of strength, e.g.,localization, accessibility, API documentation, style guides, authoring tools, etc
• Have coached and mentored early career writers.
