You will contribute directly to console porting efforts, performance tuning, and engine-level improvements using Unreal Engine. Beyond execution, you will also help define technical standards, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across multidisciplinary teams. This is a high-impact position for someone passionate about game engineering excellence and delivering polished player experiences on a global scale.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and contribute to the porting and optimization of games to Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 platforms.
- Develop and maintain high-performance systems using C++ and Unreal Engine, ensuring stability and scalability across consoles.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve rendering, GPU, and performance bottlenecks across complex game systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, art, design, production) to anticipate technical risks and prevent production delays.
- Build tools and workflows to improve development efficiency and support content creation pipelines.
- Establish and promote best practices for console development, optimization, and engine usage.
- Provide technical leadership through task breakdown, long-term planning, and engineering guidance.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in game or engine development.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and deep experience with Unreal Engine.
- Proven experience porting games to consoles or mobile platforms, ideally including Nintendo Switch.
- Expertise in rendering pipelines, GPU debugging, and performance optimization techniques.
- Strong software architecture and systems design skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver technical goals with minimal supervision.
- Experience communicating complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership mindset with experience in planning, prioritization, and task breakdown.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S development is highly valued.
- Background in tool development for game production workflows is a plus.
- Opportunity to work on high-profile console game projects across leading global platforms.
- Remote flexibility within Brazil and exposure to international development teams.
- Long-term contract engagement through May 2027, offering project stability.
- Work in a highly technical environment focused on performance, optimization, and engineering excellence.
- Collaboration with experienced game developers across engineering, art, and production disciplines.
- Opportunity to influence technical standards, tooling, and console development best practices.
- Career growth through mentorship, technical leadership, and complex problem-solving challenges.
