Senior/Principal Product Manager, Lending Platform
Job Description
Who We Are
We are creating the best way to finance clean energy for the home to help combat climate change. Mosaic partners directly with solar and home improvement professionals, who use our simple point-of-sale app to offer financing to their customers. This makes it easy and affordable for families to make energy-efficient upgrades to their homes. Since 2012, Mosaic has funded more than $11 billion in loans through our platform and helped more than 1 million homeowners switch to sustainable solutions. Join us as we work toward our vision of 100% clean energy for all.
Location:Â We are a remote-first company. This role can be based anywhere in the US.
The Team
The product team at Mosaic is comprised of highly talented and growth-obsessed product managers. We try very hard to be design-minded (not just how it looks but how it works) and human-centered (solve for people, not for features). We have the discipline to put Product Discovery (understand everything about the problem first) ahead of Product Design (define the solution). And the product team cares deeply about Go to Market (enabling our colleagues to rollout, sell, train and support effectively), not just production releases.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team and drive the strategy and development of our Lending platform. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role and you will partner with leaders from all departments of the Company. You are known as a capability-driven PM who seems to be a step ahead of the immediate problem to solve. You know how to own a product strategy and are an expert at implementing loan platform capabilities that translate into transformational growth. You love partnering with engineering to work through the intricacies between the business problem to solve and the technical approach to get there. You are an excellent communicator and respected by all levels/domains within the company both for being able to deeply listen as well as communicate your ideas. You are trusted by your engineering partners to be the face of the team to all stakeholders and to be the teamâs SME and expert guide for your domain.
Weâre looking for a product manager who..
- Thinks critically. You can develop and defend your point of view in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information. You think about solutions end-to-end, yet are an expert at knowing how to move forward without âboiling the ocean.â
- Inquires expertly. You ask high quality questions to uncover the problem-to-solve. You can separate the stated wants from the inferred needs. You think about future scenarios and how they impact the present.
- Communicates effectively. You can explain a product idea and its value proposition in a manner that resonates with your audience. Your vocabulary adapts to the stakeholders you engage with - product, design, engineering, executive team, legal, operations, sales, finance and everyone in between. You are adept at understanding the product/business implications from technical conversations with engineering and can translate this into the âneed to knowâ for non-technical audiences.
- Works collaboratively. You like working with people. People like working with you. You like being the connective tissue between teams. You donât think of project management as a chore but necessary for product success.
- Understands technically. You are not afraid to become intricately familiar with our product and back-end platform. You want to know enough about the architecture in order to make sure you are guiding the product direction in the right way.
- Serves gladly. You are eager to become the go-to person. You are an active listener. You like fielding questions, resolving issues and generally being in service to others.
