The Challenge

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with the Global Zynga Operations Center you will improve our studio’s reliability through monitoring, rapid response, communication and coordination. This will involve developing and managing the deployment monitoring architecture for central services, applications, and develop the monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations and alerts. In this role you will routinely identify operational problems by observing and studying system architect, functionality and performance results. You will also troubleshoot procedures with the overall studio architect and investigate surfaced issues, and handling incidents.

This is a full-time, ongoing, hourly, remote Support position requiring occasional attendance at the Zynga office in San Mateo, CA. There is a regular on-call schedule of one t per week and every fifth weekend, for which you will be compensated.


What You’ll Take On
  • Monitor studio and service games and escalate alerts and/or incidents that surface while on the on-call rotation.
  • Trained on all monitoring tools and Ops responder processes.
  • Able to gauge or assess game/revenue impact or potential risks.
  • Identify issues, alerts, criticals and service incidents within the provided dashboards and monitoring tools.
  • Basic knowledge, troubleshooting and diagnosing each service provided in the studio's playbooks.
  • Assistance on playbook procedures on service operations.
  • Relay or sscalate to higher tier for support on multiple alerts or services affected.
  • Guidance on running new processes or procedures within the team.

 

What You Bring
  • Either 4-6 years of related experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 1-2+ years professional experience.
  • Basic knowledge of white listing, network availability, as well as game accessibility.
  • Basic knowledge with storage of game data. Familiar with navigating through databases and an understanding on data storage.
  • Basic knowledge of the overall game architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills to relay data on the issues surfacing.
  • Basic knowledge of tools used for Cloud Infrastructure a bonus.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $29 and $43 per Hour. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
