Social Media Intern (Remote Position)

Role Overview:
This role will exist within the Intern/Co-op Program and is intended to attract top performing undergraduate college students who are studying Marketing, Advertising, Communications or similar disciplines. The role is meant to provide undergraduates focus projects that move Smith+Nephew forward, while also advancing the students' career. Successful candidates for the Intern position will gain valuable experience in medical device industry which could shape career decisions and create future employment opportunities.
As a Social Media & Graphics Design Intern, you will work cross functionally with the Medical Education Team, Marketing, Content Development and Marketing Services teams. You will collaborate with the teams to: 1. Understand our current medical education needs, 2. Recommend and create messaging and graphical content for social media while 3. Ensuring that messaging is aligned and consistent with company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the social media posts across multiple platforms including content, pictures, and video
- Build online content for current social media outlets to improve our brand presence and awareness of Medical Education opportunities
- Build tailored online campaigns for specific Medical Education events
- Analyze data and report on social media channels effectiveness
- Investigate new social media channels and recommend new approaches
- Present project conclusion to senior leadership
Education:
- Must be currently matriculated at an accredited university as an undergraduate majoring in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or similar discipline
- Must be in excellent academic standing, with a 3.0 preferred
Location:
Remote
Experience:
- Previous applicable intern, part-time or apprenticeship experience is preferred
Competences:
- Proficient with posting on social media platforms (LinkedIn, etc)
- Proficient with graphical design creation software (ie., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator)
- Strong attention to detail and collaborative skills
- Requires the ability to manage tight deadlines, multiple tasks, assignment changes, periodic heavy workload, rapidly changing technology, and dynamic business growth; time management and organization skills are a must
- Demonstrated leadership experience with effective project management experience preferred
- Strong communication skills including writing, listening and speaking; ability to influence others
- High learning agility with the ability to analyze and synthesize data and then present it to senior leaders
- Must be able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive project completion
- Independent thinking and the ability to work within a team is required
- Ability to assess technical issues and develop solutions utilizing an analytical approach to problem solving
