The Opportunity

Join our rapidly growing software engineering team as a Typescript and React focused content management system developer. Be a part of a talented group of developers building the critical components that make up the next iteration of Abbott's FreeStyle Libre and LIbreView diabetes management platform. Candidates will work with a modern tech stack on a Software as a Service cloud and mobile platform that is currently available in 45+ countries around the world. The candidate should bring a passion for software engineering and a desire for continuous learning as well as versatility, leadership qualities and a desire to help shape the direction of the team.

What You'll Work On

  • Create and manage content models within the Contentful CMS system.
  • Work with cross functional teams to gather and manage content for both Mobile and Web Projects.
  • Develop a process to automatically sync and update content provided by the Contentful API with the suite of Libre platform projects.
  • Write modular, maintainable, well-tested, and documented code within a large scale highly regulated React Native application.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reusable components and services that can be shared between multiple code bases.
  • Craft UI components that take globalization/localization into account and can grow and scale appropriately.
  • Work to resolve the root cause of complex problems, leaving software better and easier to maintain than when you found it.
  • Engage in technical planning, design, estimation, and code reviews including peer review of pull request.
  • Stay up to date with current best practices, standards, and open-source frameworks, making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
  • Strong technical background and analytical abilities in software design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • 2 years' experience programming (may include education).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an agile development environment preferred.
  • Experience with Contentful or other headless CMS systems.
  • Experience with JavaScript or Typescript and React / React Native
