Software Development Engineer in Test

About the Role: 

This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact in designing a mobile automation framework for our Motive Driver Android app and Motive Fleet App as well as grow by working directly with experienced technology professionals with backgrounds from Silicon Valley companies like Google, Twitter, Facebook and Uber (to name a few). We are looking for candidates who have a familiarity with Java and Kotlin, and a good understanding of system architectures (MVC, MVVM, Redux) and a forward thinking mindset aimed at high readability (declarative) code, as well as identifying problems or bottlenecks before they become issues.

What You'll Do:

• Develop Automation framework from scratch for our Android and iOS Driver App and Fleet App.
• Integrate execution of Android and iOS automated tests with end-to-end testing processes, including API and browser tests.
• Add test coverage for the Android and iOS Apps. 
• Add test coverage for the API tests using REST Assured library. 
• Run and analyze the test results for the bi weekly releases.
• Collaborate with the Development team to implement and maintain automated tests as a part of the CI process
• Communicate with the Development team and the QA team about new requirements or refinements.
• Be able to work as part of a small, tightly knit team

What We're Looking For:

• 4+ years of experience working on Android apps with a deep understanding of Android SDKs
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Android lifecycle, custom views, database/persistence
• Native mobile test experience using tools like UI Automator, Espresso/Compose and XCUITest
• An understanding of Android UI/UX and application design paradigms
• An appreciation and understanding of automated app testing
• An understanding of profiling and analyzing application performance
• Knowledge in Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile, RxJava2, Dagger2, and knowledge or interest in commercial vehicles/trucking is a plus!
• API Automation testing experience.
