What You'll Do

• The Software Development Summer Intern will support the leadership team in the design and development of value-added reports and applications to meet contractual requirements and drive improved decision making within operations. The Intern will learn and experience writing and modifying software application programs.
• Previous projects have included:
  • Creating visibility for server performance
  • Visualization for interactive organizational charts
  • Visualization for copay assistance usage
• Leadership Speaker Series: You and your fellow interns will be exposed to a variety of sessions and presentations given by members of the Cigna community.

Qualifications

• Rising juniors or seniors Bachelor's Degree students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields

• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

• Microsoft Office software experience
• Experience with data visualization is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to share opinions and take risks
• Independent thinker and worker with the ability to take initiative
• Ability to develop and model hypotheses and conclusions while identifying assumptions
• Experience with Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Teradata SQL is a plus
• Experience with SSIS or Visual is a plus
• 3.0 or higher GPA preferred

Other Information:

Location: This role can work from home from any U.S. location

Work Authorization: This role is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Program Schedule: You must be able to work a 40-hour week for 12 weeks beginning May 23rd, 2022. Working days are Monday- Friday.

Market Range: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $22.00-$26.00, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
