Software Engineer 3

Job Description:
Job Summary
A Software Engineer's role is to design, develop, and maintain our software application. They use their creativity and technical skills to help solve new and ongoing problems for an organization. They partner with our product teams to deliver on our roadmap, maintain the current platform, and create new solutions for our customers. In this role you will be working on our payment team. If you have worked in Fintech or worked with a checkout or e-commerce team this is the role for you.
Duties/responsibilities

• Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Partner with product teams in product maintenance by resolving bugs, implementing updates to dependencies, and other various improvements as needed to ensure that our product continues to function as expected.
• Partner with the team in creating and maintaining team documentation including user manuals and other related materials that describe the software architecture and functionality that your team supports.
• Design, build, and support performant distributed systems
• Write unit tests, perform code reviews, and participate in design discussions about architecture, data shape, and business logic
• Work with cart/checkout, billing really anything e-commerce or payments.

Minimum qualifications/skills

• Demonstrated ability to take on challenges by pairing with other engineers, comfortable working independently, and mentoring junior developers.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify candidate solutions, and communicate trade-offs and recommendations to peers and leaders.
• Demonstrated ability writing unit tests, performing code reviews, and participating in design discussions about architecture, data shape, and business logic with a commitment to engineering excellence.
• Hands-on experience with one or more technologies in our tech stack: Full stack but Node or React a must
• Experience working collaboratively with Agile or Kanban development teams.
• Ability to work in a remote-first team

Education and experience requirements

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of related or equivalent experience; or 3+ years with an advanced degree.

Physical Requirements
Work is performed in an office (or home office) environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Sedentary work. Repetitive work. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
