This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer in Test based in India.

We are looking for a Software Engineer in Test to design and build reliable automation solutions for critical healthcare applications.
This role focuses on improving software quality through advanced testing frameworks, automation strategies, and continuous integration practices.
You will work closely with development teams to introduce testing earlier in the software lifecycle and improve release confidence.
The position combines software engineering, quality assurance, performance testing, and DevOps collaboration.
You will contribute to scalable solutions that help ensure secure, stable, and high-performing applications.

Accountabilities:

The Software Engineer in Test will be responsible for developing automated testing solutions, improving quality processes, and supporting reliable software delivery. The role requires strong programming skills, technical problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with engineering teams to create efficient and scalable testing practices.

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks using industry-standard tools and practices.
  • Build and enhance automated regression suites to reduce manual testing efforts and improve release reliability.
  • Develop automated tests for web applications, APIs, backend services, and microservices architectures.
  • Create and execute performance, load, and stress testing strategies to validate system reliability under demanding conditions.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
  • Manage and automate test data processes across development, QA, and staging environments.
  • Participate in code reviews by providing feedback on testability, quality practices, and unit test coverage.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and technical teams to identify defects early and improve overall product quality.
  • Support continuous improvement of automation frameworks, testing processes, and engineering practices.
  • Requirements:

    The ideal candidate is an experienced automation engineer with a strong background in software quality engineering, programming, and modern testing methodologies. The role requires technical expertise combined with independence, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

    • 4–6 years of experience in software quality engineering, including at least 3 years focused on automation engineering.
    • Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver and Playwright for automated testing.
    • Hands-on programming experience with Java, Python, or JavaScript (Node.js).
    • Experience with shell scripting, XML, and complex SQL queries for Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
    • Strong understanding of API testing within SOA or microservices environments using tools such as Postman or RestAssured.
    • Knowledge of Docker containerization and managing test environments or virtualized test agents.
    • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD workflows and version control systems.
    • Understanding of data privacy and security frameworks such as HIPAA or GDPR.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently, think critically, and solve complex technical problems.
    • Experience in regulated industries, healthcare technology, or public-sector software environments is a plus.
    • Familiarity with QA certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE is desirable.
    • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an advantage.
    • Knowledge of database administration, network infrastructure, Six Sigma, CMM, or ISO9000 methodologies is a plus.
