Software Engineer - Platform Services Intern (UK)

Being a part of the AddeU Internship Program, you will be working on a meaningful project(s) that you can feel proud of and present back to the company at the end of the experience. We are currently seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join our Platform Services Team! The team works on backend services that are used across the entire Addepar engineering stack. We write critical, performance sensitive code that the organization depends on when delivering customer-facing applications. As a member of the team you will be within a team of versatile engineers and will craft, implement, and roll out systems instrumental in Addepar's growth and global expansion.

• distributed systems (microservices, sharded computations)
• Inter-process messaging and coordination (Kafka, Zookeeper, service meshes like Istio)
• observability (distributed tracing, logging, performance and application monitoring)
• build systems, test systems, cloud-native deployment suites

• Build new backend software using the latest technologies in messaging and microservices.
• Work with your mentors to craft a CI/CD pipeline for your microservices
• Release it to production!

• Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution (university must be located in the US & Canada) & must be returning to school after internship
• Available to intern for the full 12 weeks
• Outstanding talent in software engineering. Ability to write high quality object oriented code.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• General knowledge of some of the technologies we use, is a huge plus: HTTP, REST and web API best practices, SQL, relational databases and key-value stores.
• Specific knowledge of Java is a plus.
