Software Engineer - SharePoint and Power Platform Engineer

Job Summary

The Software Engineer – SharePoint & Microsoft Power Platform designs, develops, and implements SharePoint and Microsoft (MS) Power (Automate, Apps, & BI) Platform solutions.  This role will code, test, and document solutions and perform tests to validate the code. The Software Engineer has ability to write complex code and work independently to solve problems and fix technical issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and document software solutions that are high performing and intuitive, adhering to F&G’s software development methodologies, frameworks, standards, and security requirements
• Perform unit, regression, security, and load tests to validate the readiness of internally and externally developed SharePoint and/or Power Platform solutions for production as required
• Develop estimates for project and maintenance work.
• Contribute to the design of architecture and solutions
• Peer review code developed by other team members.
• Collaborate with team members and business partners to solve problems and fix technical issues.
• Design and code complex solutions
• Perform application monitoring and on-call support
• Independently solve problems and fix technical issues.
• Develop Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI solutions.

Experience and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (preferred emphasis in Computer Science or MIS) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 0 - 3 years of hands-on technical experience in designing and building SharePoint and/or MS Power Platform solutions.
• Knowledge of the various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
• Experience developing in .Net/Java environment.
• Experience of designing and developing databases in a relational database platform (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle)
• Expert understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience with secure development practices and knowledge of OWASP Top Ten preferred
• Knowledge of API management platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, Apigee, or others preferred
• Experience using ShareGate or Microsoft PowerShell preferred
• Certified as a Microsoft Certified Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Certified Teamwork Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in SharePoint, or other Microsoft Solutions Certifications preferred
• Experience within a Financial Services/Insurer’s IT Organization preferred
