  • Serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for the stability compliance and continuous operation of COBOL-based applications that support client implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Act as a trusted technical partner to internal stakeholders by troubleshooting complex system issues and guiding teams through process improvements and federally mandated changes.
  • Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical solutions using COBOL.
  • Develop modify and maintain COBOL programs for batch and online processing.
  • Perform debugging troubleshooting and resolving issues in existing COBOL applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts and QA testers to deliver reliable solutions.
  • Document code changes and system processes for future reference.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and best practices for software development.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong proficiency in COBOL programming including experience with mainframe systems (e.g. IBM z/OS).
  • Familiarity with related technologies such as JCL CICS DB2 or VSAM.
  • Experience with SAS NDM FILE-AID CompairX Datamover BlueZone
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience with modernization projects or migration from legacy systems.
  • Knowledge of financial or insurance industry applications.
  • Understanding of Agile or Waterfall development methodologies. General use of JIRA Confluence

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $55000.00 – $152375.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location market data and on individual skills experience and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company business and/or individual performance.
