A Little About You:
We need a Java Software Engineer to accelerate the building of critical features into the Yahoo SSP. Every time you see an ad on the internet, an auction is run across all of the advertisers that are potentially interested in paying for your attention at that moment in time.
The Yahoo SSP team makes the software that runs those auctions. We run millions of auctions in a second and we make billions of $ for our company. Our software is high scale and high availability. We have interesting problems and we have fun solving them. We are looking for a talented Java engineer to work on our Yahoo SSP components to help us build the features needed to support our customers.
A day in the life:

• Daily real-time scrum check-ins
• Addressing challenging problems in a high availability, highly scalable AWS architecture
• Building new features in a growing market segment
• Integrating into a large, mature software ecosystem
• Supportive teammates lending knowledge, advice, and suggestions
• Engaged product management invested in our success

Responsibilities:

• Use Java to add features to components within the SSP
• Analyze business and technical requirements and design solutions that meet those needs
• Collaborate with programmers both on their team and on other teams
• Collaborate with product managers to develop and clarify requirements
• Troubleshoot production issues related to the team's applications
• Effectively manages day-to-day tasks in an Agile process to meet scheduled commitments
• Write unit tests and specification documents

SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred)
• 2+ years of experience designing and programming Java
• Experience with developing fast and responsive Java Applications
• Knowledge of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, SQL
• Must have strong programming and debugging skills
• Must have a solid understanding of object oriented programming
• Must have a working knowledge of application design and development processes and methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Familiar with software design methods and techniques
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $79,500.00 - $132,500.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives.
