Solutions Architect

STR is hiring a Solutions Architect to enable the development of a software suite for theater scale battle management command and control to address critical national security challenges. The Solutions Architect will act as a software product owner, selecting development priorities and making trade-offs to meet program requirements, and work across STR and with potential customers, building bridges between customer needs and STR technology solutions.

Duties will include the following:

• Develop and explicitly communicate the Product Goal.
• Work with the Chief Architect to create and communicate the Product Backlog across STR and subcontractor teams.
• Prioritize Product Backlog items based on insight and customer demands.
• Work with the Chief Architect to ensure that the Product Backlog is transparent, visible, and understood.
• Support the Program Director by serving as a critical point of contact for the program to both the government and STR leadership.
• Engage with external stakeholders to communicate the capabilities of this program while also learning of related technology challenges to inform future program requirements.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Military experience.
• 10+ years of experience in a management role, working and interfacing with senior Government managers, including C-suite officials.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps development methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Successful experience in leading and managing multi-discipline teams.
• Strong presentation and organizational skills.
• U.S. Citizen with an active Security Clearance.

Even Better:

• Additional domain experience including:
  • As an officer in the U.S. military.
  • Working with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
  • In Joint All Domain Command and Control concepts.
• Additional work experience including:
  • Risk and Opportunity management.
  • Research and Development program management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Current Top Secret clearance.
