Sr Manager, Software Apps Eng - Mobile Infra

The mission of the Yahoo Mobile Platforms org is to enable all mobile users to access various key platforms services on all of their mobile devices. We develop consumer facing experiences with iOS and Android SDKs and integrate with 50+ Yahoo apps to provide all our Yahoo users a unified and reliable way to sign in/out their accounts, manage/recover accounts, manage payments, receive push notifications etc. In addition, we build iOS and Android SDKs to help Yahoo apps to manage and measure their user analytics, user engagement, productivity and performance analytics, quality, crashes, user feedback etc.
Yahoo's mobile infrastructure team is responsible for creating & maintaining the foundational infrastructure and systems that all application engineers rely on in order to build stable, scalable and efficient apps. We build standardized infrastructure that helps software developers move fast, while still providing them with the flexibility they need to innovate within their teams. We are looking for experienced leaders to guide these teams as they create an exceptional development experience for all Yahoo Mobile Engineers and mobile users. This is a very high visibility role, as your work will have a multiplicative effect across entire mobile engineering across Yahoo, and you'll work with very senior leaders across the company in a high-stake environment.. Our goal is to build and maintain the best mobile platform and frameworks that hundreds of application developers want to use!

We are looking for a highly qualified Senior Mobile Engineering leader with a strong experience in developing native mobile applications or SDKs to help us build the next generation of Mobile Infrastructure at Yahoo.. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Mobile Infrastructure org at Yahoo - managed a team focused on mobile apps, architecture, libraries, SDKs or tooling, build & release systems, mobile CI/CD and/or mobile automation
- Work across the entire engineering org at Yahoo to build relationships with other app teams. Use their feedback and understand their goals to build and prioritize a roadmap for your org. Forge sustainable relationships with partners!
- Encourage and enforce the right behaviors to entire app developers community across Yahoo to ensure we continue to ship quickly without compromising production stability.
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members; help develop their careers, and assign them to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals. Be a coach!
- Build teams that are collaborative, inclusive, and respectful of each other. Promote diversity of talent. Be inclusive!

Experience/Skills:
- You have experience managing iOS, Android, Systems & Tools engineers and supporting large scale mobile SDKs, Apps or Infrastructure.
- You have experience leading engineers at all levels, and you're skilled at guiding them through their career development. The team has fairly senior/principal level engineers.
- You are technically strong and are able to contribute to planning and design discussions
- You have experience guiding teams through planning, prioritization, and execution of work.
- You're industry-focused and able to work with Product Manager or Principal Architects to build a mobile infrastructure roadmap spanning multiple quarters and/or years.
- You're obsessed with a customer-first attitude.
- You have a strong focus on metrics and know how to measure the health of engineering teams.
- You can motivate and instill a strong sense of ownership and accountability in your team.
- You can make build vs buy decisions that have an impact on the entire company.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience
- Experience with mobile apps development on iOS or Android
- Experience with mobile SDKs, API or Infrastructure development
- 3+ years of prior experience managing Mobile teams of size 8-10 engineers
Bonus points if you have
- Published an app to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store
- Experience working closely with product teams, designers, and other developers to create a truly delightful mobile experience

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $130,875.00 - $218,125.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
