This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Project Director, Evidence Development Solutions - Oncology based in the United States.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished clinical research professional to oversee complex oncology and biotechnology evidence development programs on a global scale. The role combines strategic project leadership, operational excellence, financial oversight, and client partnership to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact research initiatives. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage large project portfolios, and contribute to business growth while maintaining the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance. Working in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment, you will influence organizational strategy and support the advancement of real-world evidence and clinical development programs. Accountabilities:

The Sr. Project Director will provide executive-level leadership across multiple evidence development programs while ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple global oncology and evidence development projects while ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational strategy.
  • Provide strategic leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to drive high-quality project execution.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, financial forecasting, revenue recognition, invoicing, and overall program profitability.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to optimize staffing and team performance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as the primary senior operational contact and trusted advisor throughout project delivery.
  • Lead governance meetings, executive reviews, and project discussions while proactively resolving operational challenges and client concerns.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, regulatory requirements, company procedures, and applicable international guidelines, including ICH-GCP, FDA, EMA, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • Monitor project metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators while providing accurate reports to clients and senior leadership.
  • Manage external vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal development, budget planning, client presentations, bid defenses, and conference participation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by developing operational processes, SOPs, quality standards, and innovative delivery strategies.
  • Support workforce planning, talent development, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and ongoing mentoring of project management teams.
  • Requirements:

    The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience in oncology clinical research, deep knowledge of evidence development programs, and a strong ability to lead complex global projects.

    • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Business, or a related discipline; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
    • Minimum of 15–20 years of clinical research operations experience within a CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device environment.
    • At least 15 years of progressive project management or clinical operations leadership experience.
    • Previous experience as a Project Director, Director of Clinical Operations, or similar senior leadership role is strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years of people management and supervisory experience.
    • Strong expertise in oncology and biotechnology clinical research is required.
    • Comprehensive understanding of clinical development, evidence generation, real-world evidence (RWE), Phase II-IV studies, and global clinical research operations.
    • In-depth knowledge of ICH-GCP, FDA, EMA, GDPR, HIPAA, and other applicable international regulatory standards.
    • Demonstrated experience managing complex global clinical programs, budgets, resource planning, and operational strategy.
    • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
    • Experience supporting proposals, pricing models, business development initiatives, and client presentations.
    • Strong financial management, analytical, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Willingness to travel approximately 10% as business needs require.
