Sr Software Engineer - Backend

You will lead backend engineering efforts within a platform team responsible for identity, security, and access systems, ensuring scalable and reliable solutions that support mission-critical financial and educational workflows.

• Lead backend development initiatives, delivering high-quality, scalable, and production-ready services with direct customer impact.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to design technical solutions aligned with business and user needs.
• Build and maintain secure, performant backend systems using strong engineering principles and clean architecture practices.
• Contribute to system design discussions, helping define trade-offs across scalability, performance, speed of delivery, and complexity.
• Identify technical risks early and proactively propose solutions to improve reliability, maintainability, and system resilience.
• Promote engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, observability, and continuous improvement across the team.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery of platform capabilities and integration with other systems.

Requirements:

You bring strong backend engineering experience, with solid computer science fundamentals and the ability to design and deliver scalable systems in production environments. You are comfortable working in collaborative teams and care deeply about code quality and product impact.

• Strong experience in backend software development with proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Golang is a plus).
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.
• Experience building scalable, reliable, and well-tested distributed systems or APIs.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and production-grade code.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate trade-offs in system design.
• Product mindset with attention to user experience and business impact.
• Experience working in collaborative Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
