Sr Technical Data Analyst Â
The Sr. Technical Data Analyst - Data Governance is responsible for working with data producers, consumers, and Data Platform members to investigate and document data flows throughout the Data Platform, ensuring the Platform’s data assets are properly documented, discoverable, and accessible. The position is responsible for meeting and collaborating  with developer teams to generate data lineage documentation and use that documentation to ensure compliance with company and government regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data lineage, data cataloging and metadata management. This position reports to the Manager, Software Engineering Data Governance for the Data Platform.Â
Responsibilities:Â
Â
- Build and document data lineages for data flows both internal and external to the Data Platform reviewing and ensuring high-quality measures are appliedÂ
- Determine and document data classification types for tables/fields Â
- Design, create, and update data catalogues for relevant tables within the Data Platform and applies strong expertise of data, platforms, and systems into their daily work Â
- Document lineages, classifications, and privacy controls according to company/governmental standardsÂ
- Collaborate with multiple teams to uncover and document data flow informationÂ
- Determine and document ownership over data assets and flows including technical or analytical dependencies and implications and work with Data Stewards to present this information to leadership and other teams in a clear and accessible mannerÂ
- Provide guidance to other analysts/Data Stewards on appropriate best practices/design patternsÂ
- Ensure that data is retained and sanitized in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) standardsÂ
- Provide input to the significant change process for a federally authorized to operate (“ATO'd”) environment to account for any changes to the environment that may impact data flows, data retention, or data sanitizationÂ
 Required Qualifications:Â
Â
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mathematics, Statistics, Engineering healthcare, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related fieldÂ
- 5+ years of Data AnalysisÂ
- 3+ Years of Data Governance experience, including data lineage experienceÂ
- Strong SQL skillsÂ
- Knowledge/ Experience with data architectureÂ
 Preferred Qualifications Â
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and processing; AWS is a plusÂ
- Experience with reporting software such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.Â
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles and data management concepts.Â
- Ability to reduce complex designs and concepts to simple foundational componentsÂ
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Experience with FedRAMP requirements Â
- Experience with GovCloud or other secure data environments Â
- Experience handling regulatory requirements related to PII/FIPS 199 classificationÂ
- Experience with data governance toolsÂ
- Experience with Snowflake architectureÂ
Estimated salary range: $87,400 - $116,500 Â
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
