Sr Ux Researcher

Take ownership of UXR projects as assigned

· Work collaboratively with a lead researcher on UXR projects as assigned

· Create research plans to solve software or other business problems

· Choose and employ most effective methods to answer a research question or problem (e.g., contextual inquiry, card sorting, usability testing protocols)

· Produce personas, user flows, empathy maps, journey maps, research reports, and other artifacts as needed

· Collaborate closely with designers or other product team members to ensure research insights have meaningful impact on designs, prototypes, collaborations, and product strategy

· Mentor UXR interns

· Keep learning and growing!

Needed Education, Experience, or Skills

· Bachelor’s degree

· Previous education, experience, or both in a social science (e.g., anthropology, sociology, psychology), human-computer interaction (HCI), or another similar field

· Evidence of UXR or general UX workshop(s) or course(s) completed

· At least 7 year of UXR or comparable research experience

· Solid grounding in qualitative or mixed-methods

· Adaptability and a learning growth mindset

· Critical thinking and problem solving

Value-add Education, Experience, or Skills

· A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a social science (e.g., anthropology, sociology, psychology), HCI, or a similar field

· 7 years’ experience in UXR

· Prior enterprise software UXR experience

· Prior academic research or program evaluation experience or training

· Prior experience in a start-up, tech company, or other highly dynamic endeavor where rapid change and adaptation is the norm

· Or, prior UXR experience in a large corporate setting with frequent interaction with business stakeholders outside of IT teams
