Job Summary
The Sr. Accountant – Retail Execution will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the successful launch of new, and modifications to existing, insurance products, features or riders identified by F&G’s Retail Business Unit (“Retail”). This role will collaborate with Retail’s Protection and Retirement product teams to advise and assist with the launch of the insurance product, feature or rider. This role will assist in defining financial reporting business requirements to ensure new products and features are accurately reported within the Company’s financial statements.Â

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise related to financial accounting and reporting for the successful launch of new, and modifications to existing, insurance products, features or riders
- Assist in defining financial reporting business requirements to appropriately account for Retail’s insurance products
- Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to financial reporting and analysis, as assigned.
- Collaborate with Retail to increase awareness and understanding of product profitability and capital considerations
- Engage in discussions throughout the product life cycle to advise on development, implementation and/or ongoing administration, as applicable
- Redefine/design finance engagement within the process, including process improvements, to promote speed to market
- Assist in the development of a product launch playbook and other opportunities to create an effective and efficient process
- Liaise with other Finance departments to coordinate delivery and understanding of product launches
- Review the results of testing procedures (e.g., unit, user acceptance) to ensure successful implementation
- Advise in the use of automation and other technologies as part of continuous process improvements
- Assist with requests of both internal and external auditors
- Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to Retail Execution & Performance, as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2-5 years accounting experience in sophisticated accounting environment
- CPA or pursuing CPA preferred
- Big Four accounting experience preferred
- Insurance experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong computer knowledge, including familiarity of financial based client-server packages
- Knowledge of reporting packages, including OLAP reporting tools a plus
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills Â
- Highly motivated and demonstrated ability to take initiative   Â
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels Â
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of key data Â
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks/projects to meet critical deadlines Â
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Â
- Excellent organizational and time management skills  Â
- Strong problem solving skills Â
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required Â
