ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the VP Regulatory Chemistry, the Senior Scientist will support interpretation and evaluation of regulatory filing data and lead technical writing for JUUL Labs Regulatory Chemistry related studies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead ENDS products testing trending and data analysis, draft and review presentations, reports and documents for internal use and regulatory submissions.
• Draft scientific documents in support of regulatory filing, with efficiency, accuracy, and independent thought.
• Extract and summarize scientific information from development reports and identify details required for regulatory submissions.
• Verify completeness, clarity, accuracy, and quality of technical documents.
• Prepare various materials ranging from regulatory documents, white papers, articles for publication, memoranda, and proposals.
• Independently gather information from literature and subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write scientific manuscripts for publications.
• Write new and edit existing content by working closely with various departments to understand project requirement and established deadlines/milestones.
• Edit and guide the writing of regulatory/scientific documents written by other team members.
• Serve as regulatory reviewer of regulatory/scientific documents within and outside area(s) of technical expertise.
• Train and mentor junior scientist and research associates.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Toxicology, or related field. MS or PhD preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a lead writer in preparing key technical documentation
• Experience with nicotine related products, consumer goods, pharmaceutical and/or medical device
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements from agencies including but not limited to, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Health Canada (HC), Medicines and Healthcare product Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including grammatical/technical writing skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to integrate, interpret, and summarize data from a variety of sources in a clear and concise manner
• Experience in aerosol analytical chemistry is preferred but not required
• Strong problem-solving skills
• High motivation and flexibility
