Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the systems administration team in supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining the corporate applications system and remote connectively in a multi-system environment.
Writes and maintains system utilities to assist operations with monitoring saves and restores; researches available functions to save/restore software (BRMS); maintains system startup procedures.
Provides Systems Maintenance, install Operating systems upgrades, apply Hot Fix PTFs; developing and enhancing the Backup Strategy; monitor for 3rd party software updates as they become available; and installing any 3rd party PTF updates; review and recommend 3rd party packages; configure and document 3rd party packages.
Consults with management to analyze computer system needs for management information and functional operations, to determine scope and priorities of projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
Manages the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the organization.
Develops, implements, and monitors management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
Negotiates and contracts with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.
Provides support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software programs and hardware.
Manages computer operation scheduling, backup, storage, and retrieval functions.
Reviews reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine costs and impact, and address problems.
Maintain secure access to system and application data (user accounts, file permissions, ODBC access, etc.); review and produce Sarbanes-Oxley documents as required.
Familiar with scheduling for BOSS cycle billing - with Robot/SCHEDULE calendar and date objects.
Troubleshoot communications issues and verify availability using configuration commands.
Review daily system logs for critical messages, review completion status of scheduled system and application jobs.
Administers and maintains security setup for systems and assigned applications.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network and desktop issues with other Support personnel.
Minimum Requirements:Minimum of 10-15 years of hands on IBMi experience
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on BOSS/CISS software experience
Familiar with Robot/SCHEDULE and Robot/CONSOLEF
Familiar with PTC Implementer
