This role sits at the intersection of animation artistry and real-time technical implementation, shaping how characters move, react, and feel in gameplay.
You will help define character motion from early concept through final in-engine execution, ensuring animations translate into responsive and engaging player experiences.
Working within a multidisciplinary game development team, you will collaborate closely with animators, designers, engineers, and technical artists.
The environment is highly creative and iterative, focused on building a new original game universe from the ground up.

This is an opportunity to influence both the artistic quality and technical performance of animation in a modern real-time game production setting.

Accountabilities:

  • Create and implement high-quality production animation directly into a real-time game engine
  • Collaborate with Animation, Design, and Engineering teams to build and integrate animation systems
  • Develop and maintain systems such as blending, layering, and state machines for character motion
  • Support animation teams by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in production
  • Continuously improve animation workflows, pipelines, and overall production efficiency
  • Partner with engineers to ensure animations meet performance and memory constraints
  • Work with technical artists to design and improve animation tools and pipelines
  • Requirements:

    • Extensive experience with animation systems in Unreal Engine
    • Strong understanding of game animation fundamentals (blending, layering, state machines, etc.)
    • Solid knowledge of Maya animation pipelines in production environments
    • Strong foundation in animation principles and character motion quality
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams
    • Bonus: Python scripting for Maya
    • Bonus: Experience in stylized animation
    • Bonus: Background in fighting games or live service game development
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive salary based on experience and location
      • Performance-based bonus eligibility
      • Comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision)
      • Retirement plan with employer matching (401k)
      • Paid time off and wellness programs
      • Employee discounts on company products
      • Flexible remote work options depending on role and team needs
