About the opportunity
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to join our rapidly growing company to build and run a world-class procurement department within our Finance team. As our Strategic Sourcing Lead, you will be responsible for sourcing products and services for Ontra. You will ensure that all new vendor contracts are in line with the overall goals of the company, are compliant with our policies, and strike the appropriate balance between quality and cost. Additionally, you will analyze past purchases and contracts to assess return on investment.Â

The role will report directly to our VP of Finance & Accounting.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement a company-wide strategic sourcing process
- Develop the company policy for vendor selection and onboarding, establishing the first formal procurement function within Ontra
- Lead negotiations on contracts, collaborating with the relevant stakeholders (Legal, IT, etc.) to optimize terms, cost, and deliverables
- Assist the functional business leads with optimal vendor selections; guide decision-making to best manage the company’s spend that aligns with Ontra’s priorities and needsÂ
- Manage all RFP processes and requestsÂ
- Conduct a return on investment analysis on all existing vendors; optimize our vendor spend through consistent review of past and potential agreementsÂ
What you’ll bring
- Experience: At least 5 years of total work experience, with 4 years of progressively responsible roles within strategic sourcing and working with IT vendor contracts
- Industry exposure: Background working in high-growth SaaS/tech companies strongly preferred Â
- Negotiation: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills; capable of managing complex engagements and working with senior leadershipÂ
- Communication: Excellent communication; ability to persuade and summarize relevant points and issues
- Proactive: Act without being told what to do; continuously improve a new process independently
- Attention to Detail: High standards and quality work; deliver error-free results on time
- Organized: Able to effectively build programs, manage various projects, and track relevant detailsÂ
- Adaptability: Able to quickly adapt to new requirements and changing situations; learn new technologies that aid procurement management
- Technical Skills: High level of comfort using Excel, Google Sheets, and procurement-related software
Colorado applicants only: The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $134,900. The total compensation package also includes benefits (as further detailed below) as well as unit-based compensation. Compensation for other locations may vary.*
