Dropbox Procurement team is seeking a Sourcing Manager to lead our small but mighty Deal Desk team responsible for renewals across all categories with a heavy focus on the IT category of spend. The 3 primary functions of this role are: (1) You will support the IT category by identifying and negotiating cost savings and or value add (2) developing category strategies and (3) Managing a Deal Desk in support of renewals and our Sourcing goals. You will act as the category lead and focus on material deals and suppliers, partnering with leaders across the company to develop a deep understanding of select suppliers, product and service offerings, roadmaps as well as Dropbox’s business requirements and strategy to execute business goals and objectives. You will lead a highly functional Deal Desk ensuring renewals are addressed in a timely manner and the team is contributing to our organizational goals.Â

This role will report into the Head of Sourcing and work with other category leads on the team where tech sourcing expertise is required . This role is part of the Source to Pay team reporting to the CFO Organization. As a sourcing manager you will link together cross functional teams to drive strategic sourcing efforts across our business, deploy best practices, manage the supplier relationships and mobilize stakeholders to deliver tangible value to Dropbox. This role requires a creative thinker! the business environment we operate in does not fit into a 7 step sourcing process or a simple framework or playbook to follow, it requires creative outside of the box problem solvers.Â
Responsibilities
- This role will focus on the traditional software sourcing activities; negotiations, renewals, category strategies etc for material spend vendors and will also manage a small Deal Desk team focused purely on software and non-software low dollar renewals
- Understand and track all aspects of the software life-cycle – from licensing, purchasing, to deployment and decommissioning
- Lead strategic supplier relationships to drive cost savings
- Negotiate and drive best-in-class deals for Dropbox
- You will build and develop relationships with Business Partners globally, including operational leaders, legal teams, finance and risk management
- Own the development and implementation of key sourcing strategies and buying channels within your assigned domain
- Drive the realization of top savings initiatives and continuously improve the category return on investment
- Build strong relationships with Business Partners to drive Sourcing engagement, and act as the relationship owner with Senior leaders of each categories of spend
- Provide continuous written and verbal updates to the Business Partners, Suppliers and other Stakeholders on the status of each deal
- Actively seek out industry knowledge though research, trade shows, conferences and online training, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor
- Regularly update executives at all levels of the company on deal status, category reporting, etc. Â This role will have direct visibility to senior-level executives across Dropbox
RequirementsÂ
- Deep knowledge of Information Technology and Services sourcing landscape
- Experience managing direct reports, training, and goal setting
- Embracing, and exploring technology and able to consider how technology could improve operationsÂ
- Treat problems like there’s no other option than to create a solution for the problem
- Able to navigate ambiguity and remain resilient through ups and downs
- Experience assisting in, or leading the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies
- Advanced knowledge of procurement best in class practices, key contract terms and emerging market trends
- Financial acumen and experience working closely with Finance and Accounting
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize complex and technical information into clear recommendations on course of action
- Ability to influence at an executive level both internally and externally
- A very high level of self-motivation, initiative, passion, excitement to work cross-functionally and excellent interpersonal skills are a MUST have for this role!
- Willingness to offer thought leadership, to think creatively, and to offer new ways to approach old problems
Total Rewards
For candidates hired in Colorado, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is $86,700 - $102,000 - $117,300.
This salary/OTE range represents the low, middle, and high end of the salary or OTE (Sales roles) range for this position, and is subject to change. To determine a Dropboxer’s starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. This position may be considered a promotional opportunity.Â
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
