We're looking for an SVP of Engineering to manage product and platform delivery, infrastructure (SREs, dev experience and tooling, cloud ops, networking, data management), and data science. In this role, you will set the tech strategy, drive execution and operational excellence and ultimately help drive PagerDuty as we scale. You will partner closely with the product leaders and engage across the company to execute on our product led growth strategy. You will own the budget for Engineering, including cloud spending. Lastly, you will work with customers in sharing PagerDuty best processes and approaches as well as hearing their needs and requirements to evolve the PagerDuty product suite.

How You Contribute to Our Vision- Manage our senior engineering leaders in leading the entire engineering org across North America, South America and Europe in driving culture, execution and engagement.
- Lead product development across all PagerDuty supported services including web, mobile app (iOS/android), APIs as well as Slack, MS Teams, ServiceNow and Jira. This includes managing all infrastructure and developer tooling as well as machine learning and data science.
- Maintain the high availability standards our customers expect of PagerDuty.
- Work closely with the CTO to set and drive overall architectural direction as well as platform abstraction strategy for internal developers to leverage as well as customers and third parties.
- Own PagerDuty’s cloud spend as well as the overall engineering budget and drive efficiencies to improve.
- Make hard prioritization and trade-off decisions based on our constantly evolving world.Â
- Work with internal partners, external partners and our customers to solicit feedback, refine strategy and features, and ultimately evolve the product.
- Work closely with product leaders to define customer consumable APIs, understand tradeoffs, and optimize planning.
- Understand competitive solutions and market forces to derive product planning implications.
- Guide go-to-market by collaborating early with product marketing and partner marketing teams.
- Partner closely with Business Development to identify and analyze strategic partner alliances and acquisition candidates.
- Act as an advocate for the customer to ensure we are solving the right problems in the right way.
- Lead, coach and develop a talented team of engineers and engineering managers.
- 15+ years of engineering and product execution experience in successfully delivering against goals and roadmaps
- People management experience; hiring, leading, mentoring, and growing high performing, global teams
- Experience in building and operating high availability, distributed systems (4 9s)
- Experience building extensible platforms used by 1000s of devsÂ
- Experience working with large enterprise customers
- Experience building platform tooling for partners
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to partner and collaborate cross-functionally and at all levels
- Effectively balance strategic/business acumen with deep-dive technical/engineering
- Innovative thinker, get stuff done attitude, be a positive disruptive force for change
- SaaS software experience
- Former developer that has owned and supported production systems. Deep understanding of the developer persona and their needs
- Passionate and credible evangelist to champion PagerDuty in the market
- Technical undergraduate degree with an MBA
