This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tax Operations Senior Associate based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented tax operations professional to help support and optimize tax compliance processes within a modern investment platform. In this role, you will combine technical tax expertise with operational execution to manage tax documentation, withholding, and reporting across a large portfolio of funds and investors. Working alongside tax, accounting, operations, engineering, and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to scalable process improvements and automation initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about leveraging technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Accountabilities

  • Execute tax operations workflows involving tax documentation, withholding, intermediary allocations, and year-end information reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile tax withholding calculations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Manage tax documentation, including Forms W-8, W-9, W-8IMY, 1099, 1042-S, and 8805, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Investigate and resolve tax notices by conducting research, gathering supporting documentation, and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor tax reporting deadlines, identify exceptions, and escalate compliance risks when necessary.
  • Collaborate with tax, fund accounting, operations, engineering, and offshore teams to support daily tax operations and continuous process improvements.
  • Document operational procedures, participate in system testing, and contribute to automation and workflow optimization initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology, process enhancements, and scalable solutions.
  • Requirements

    • 2–5 years of experience in tax operations, fund administration, public accounting, financial services, or a related tax environment.
    • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax documentation, withholding, and information reporting processes.
    • Experience working with tax forms such as W-8, W-9, W-8IMY, 1099, 1042-S, and 8805.
    • Excellent attention to detail and experience performing highly accurate, process-driven work.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve operational issues independently.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
    • Interest in continuous improvement, automation, and leveraging AI or technology to streamline operational processes.
    • CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or progress toward obtaining a professional tax credential is preferred.
