Your impact: TAs play a critical role in teaching and supporting ~35-45 learners (as part of a larger class).
- Before the program: We will look to TAs to support candidate interviews for participation in the program.
- During the program (~ 15 hours per week):
- Meeting with fellows: 5-6 hours
- Monitoring and answering questions on Slack: 3 hours
- Internal team meeting with C1 team: 1 hour
- Lecture time on Saturday: 5 hours
- Program Dates:
- Lecture days (Saturdays only): June 10th, June 17th, June 24th, and July 8th
- Capstone Project work (No Saturday Class) July 15th - July 22nd
- Capstone Project Presentations: July 29thÂ
A day in the lifeÂ
Class support on lecture daysÂ
- Monitor appropriate Slack channels and answering Fellows’ questions
- Support any Fellows who are experiencing technical issues accessing training platform or materials
- Take attendance during office hours on the TA portal
- Hold Team Office Hours via Zoom weekly with project teams
- Hold Individual Office Hours via Zoom weekly with Fellows in your group so Fellows can ask you additional questions
- Lead on Capstone Project Presentation day at the end of the program (More details to come)
Class support on non-lecture days:
- Monitor your TA Slack channel to answer Fellows’ questions
- Review the materials for the week so you are prepared to answer questions
- Contribute to course design improvement through thoughtful feedback to Correlation One team
- Participate in the weekly C1 & TA meeting (time TBD)
- Submit weekly write-ups summarizing the week’s accomplishments and challenges. This is due by Monday at 8pm EST each week
- Monitor the Forum and #extra-help channel on Slack throughout the day to answer Fellows’ questions
- Hold live office hours during weekdays (If needed)
Your expertiseÂ
- Minimum 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of professional data experience
- Reliable, with solid organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with Python (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, statsmodels, scikit-learn …) and Excel required, familiarity with Tableau and SQL preferred
- Machine Learning experience (like working with deep learning models, natural language processing, computer vision, and other advanced techniques)
- Ability to translate data into business contexts
- Personable, approachable, and a good sense of humor
- An affinity for communicating with others in an empathetic and considerate manner
- Proactive problem-solver, high attention to detail, and a quick learner
Where you are: This is a remote role, and preferred to be in the United States.
Compensation
New TA's will be compensated at a rate of $45/hr. Returning full time TA's will be compensated $9,600 for the entire duration of the program. New part time TA's will be compensated at a rate of $50/hr.Â
A banded bonus structure is given based on performance at the end of the program.
