Job Description
The Technical Architect position is a highly skilled analytical role requiring the ability to analyze business and technical requirements and constraints, and design highly secure, scalable solutions, systems, and products. The Technical Architect can design full systems identifying tools, methodologies, and products that will interact to solve complex technical and business needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating and iterating designs and can articulate the “hows” and “why” to both business leaders and development or IT teams implementing designs.
Job Duties:
- Ability to define solutions to solve large scale, complex business problems with high resiliency, scalability, performance, and concurrency requirements.
- Ability to research and understand new technology solutions and present essential comparisons, pros/cons, and target use cases
- Proficient in areas of REST API services, events driven architecture and API Gateway.
- Ability to analyze and design large scale implementations of Cloud Native Solutions, Containers, Microservices
- Proven skills in workflow automation, large scale distributed data, data pipelines and data analytics
- Experience in digital transformation, automation and enterprise cloud cybersecurity solutions.
- Ability to collaborate with business and technical resources to understand and develop solutions that meet business requirements, translating strategy and objectives when necessary
- Ability to lead discussions in a matrix environment focusing on team and organizational success.
- Ability to communicate with impact (written and verbal) and influence decisions across LOB and technology
- Develop architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, DevOps diagrams, ERDs, Integration diagrams, and full systems. Able to produce current state and future state diagrams. Author and evangelize ADRs in application architecture.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external teams
- Identify and lead internal critical initiatives; serving as an active contributor to the community’s overall knowledge base and expertise
- Guide customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying emerging technologies
- Work collaboratively and having very strong communications skills, especially in teaching complex concepts, and creative, prescriptive thinking
- Identify and proactively manage risk areas and commit to seeing an issue through to complete resolution
- Review and correct project/program direction, approach, and key artifacts to keep programs on track and solutions extendable and maintainable going forward
- Work closely with project managers, development teams, and directly with clients to architect technology solutions to meet client needs, lead by example.
- R&D in application frameworks conducive to business delivery across teams.
- This position may require a US Government Clearance, which requires US Citizenship
- BS or MS in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
- 10+ or more years of relevant software architecture design, with experience in cloud consulting.
- In depth knowledge of AWS technologies such as EC2, Lambda, S3 and Transit gateway
- Strong presentation, leadership, mentorship skills
- Active US Government Security Clearance preferred
At the time of hire and through initial transition into the organization, this individual will report directly to the VP of Solutions. This role will have direct reports.
CompensationBase salary, depending on relevant work experience and geography, additional compensation as performance bonus.
Position DetailsGeographic LocationPrimarily remote with routine travel to San Antonio, TX, Austin, TX, and/or Washington DC as needed.
FLSA Classification
FLSA Exempt - This is a salaried position with an expectation of a 40-60 hour workweek
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Business hours are considered Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm local time.
TravelThis position is expected to travel as much as 20% of the year to facilitate company needs.
