This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Artist who thrives at the intersection of art and technology within the video game industry. In this project-based role, you will help bridge the gap between artistic vision and technical execution, ensuring that high-quality visual assets are efficiently integrated into real-time game environments. You will contribute to optimizing pipelines, improving performance, and enabling artists and developers to work more effectively together. The environment is highly collaborative and innovation-driven, with a strong focus on delivering visually compelling and technically optimized game experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including artists, programmers, and designers on diverse game development projects. This role is ideal for someone passionate about game development, real-time rendering, and solving complex technical-artistic challenges.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and optimize art production pipelines and workflows to improve efficiency in asset creation, integration, and delivery.
- Create and maintain custom tools, scripts, and plugins to automate repetitive tasks and enhance productivity across art and development teams.
- Develop shaders and materials to achieve high-quality visual effects while ensuring optimal performance across platforms.
- Integrate art assets into game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine, ensuring visual fidelity, functionality, and performance.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in collaboration with artists and engineers, optimizing assets for real-time rendering.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to artists and developers to ensure smooth production workflows.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with artists, designers, and programmers to improve pipeline efficiency and overall game quality.
- 3–5 years of experience in the video game industry, including at least 3 credited game projects.
- Strong experience working as a Technical Artist, bridging art and engineering in game development environments.
- Expertise in game engines such as Unreal Engine and/or Unity.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as C#, Python, C++, HLSL/GLSL, or similar.
- Strong understanding of real-time rendering, performance optimization, and game asset integration.
- Solid artistic foundation including composition, lighting, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Experience with 3D and digital content creation tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, and Substance Painter is highly valued.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and artistic challenges.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative production environment.
