Technical Due Diligence Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Due Diligence Consultant based in United States.

This role sits at the intersection of technology, strategy, and investment decision-making, where you will help assess and shape the technical foundations of high-growth software and tech-enabled businesses. You will work closely with private equity firms and portfolio companies to evaluate engineering maturity, system architecture, and delivery practices, identifying both risks and value creation opportunities. The environment is fast-paced and highly analytical, requiring a blend of deep technical expertise and strong advisory skills. You will contribute to high-impact decisions that influence major investments and transformation initiatives. The role also involves hands-on consulting work, including designing improvements across engineering organizations and development processes. You will operate in a highly collaborative setting, engaging with senior stakeholders and technical teams to deliver clear, actionable insights.

In this role, you will lead and support technical assessments and transformation initiatives across software organizations, helping investors and companies understand and improve their technology landscape.

• Conduct technical due diligence engagements for private equity and investment firms, assessing architecture, engineering practices, and delivery capabilities
• Identify technology risks, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities for value creation within target companies
• Evaluate software engineering organizations and develop actionable improvement roadmaps
• Design and support implementation of process and organizational transformations, including Agile and engineering best practices
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to deliver insights, recommendations, and strategic guidance
• Lead or contribute to hands-on consulting projects, working directly on technical and organizational improvements
• Prepare clear, structured reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations for investment decision-making

Requirements:

Candidates should bring extensive experience in software delivery and a strong ability to evaluate complex technology environments from both technical and strategic perspectives.

• 15+ years of experience shipping software products or services in roles such as Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, QA, Architecture, Program Management, or related fields
• Strong technical acumen with deep understanding of software development lifecycles and engineering best practices
• Proven ability to assess and improve software engineering organizations, processes, and tools
• Experience in at least one core area such as software development, architecture, DevOps, QA, or product/program management
• Strong communication and consulting skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts clearly
• Self-directed and comfortable working in remote and collaborative environments
• Strong problem-solving mindset with an action-oriented approach to delivering results
• Willingness to learn new domains and operate outside of core areas of expertise when needed
• Familiarity with tools and ecosystems such as Jira, Jenkins, C#, Java, or similar technologies is a plus
