The Opportunity

- Qualified candidates must currently live in the Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, or Arkansas area.

What You'll Work On
The primary job functions are to contribute to the technical solution designs (TSD) executed by the overall TSD Team; including Lab Systems/ Automation; Informatics; Workflow and Consulting lines of business. This position will develop, create, and design plans for the most complex and largest customer base, such as key strategic customers and national/regional health systems. This includes analyzing core functions within the laboratory to optimize the end-to-end solution for our customer base, collaborating with customers to co-design the optimal solution, quantifying the impact our solution provides to customers and helping build a robust project plan to make a seamless transition.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Apply technical knowledge to analyze user needs; gather customer requirements; design an integrated; scalable and comprehensive solution to improve outcomes for clinical diagnostic healthcare customers
- Partner with the Sales Organization to identify new consulting opportunities and developing customized solutions. Activities could include RFI/RFP assistance as it relates to technical data; solution development; value creation and customer meetings and presentations.
- Responsible for analyzing laboratory information system data to identify critical insights to build the optimal solution for the customer
- Partner with our laboratory customers to identify lean process improvements for their staff as it comes to pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes
- Must be able to multitask and coordinate with a complex network of departments throughout all levels of an organization such as Sales; Lab Managers/Directors; Project Managers; HSI/ IT personnel; internal and external vendors and contractors and senior level management as needed.
Position Accountability / Scope
- Responsible for representing Abbott Diagnostics and their products in a professional, forthright, and ethical manner to exceed their individual workflow goals within corporate guidelines. All their actions should be focused on total customer satisfaction
- Success in this position will depend on forming effective partnerships with external and internal customers; team members; internal sales and support organizations and the Global team
- Must have strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both very technical individuals and the individuals across multitude of organizational tiers without a technical background
- Must have strong Excel and Visio skills with a laboratory background. Position requires the ability to apply strategic thinking/logic to develop customized solutions based on the unique needs and circumstances of each customer
- This assignment requires regular travel to customer sites for intensive projects, presentations, and support.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Position requires strong problem-solving techniques and communication skills to effectively communicate and consult in a highly technical environment, as well as coordinating business strategies.
- Effective communication skills for presentations and demonstrated leadership skills essential.
- Strong IT hardware and software experience is required.
- Experience in the health care market and industry is a must.
- Experience in the laboratory is advantageous.
- Experience with workflow, IT, or Automation/Instrumentation with a laboratory background or knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred. Customer base is made up of people with a minimum of a four-year degree and most have advanced degrees such as M.D., PH.D. Masters, MTASCP, Etc. These customers do expect a certain level of competency from their business partners.
